What do you do when the Hyatt you plan to stay in is priced too high? Try Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee policy! Hyatt’s policy states that if you find a lower rate than whats offered on Hyatt.com, they will match that price AND take off an additional 20%.
We recently used Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall all-inclusive in Jamaica. During peak season, we saved 50% off of Hyatt’s already discounted 55% off rate. Use your Hyatt Visa card to pay for your stay and earn 3X the points. Also, sign up for free to become a Hyatt Gold Passport member and you can earn 5X the points!
How do you complete this process? First, you must find a cheaper rate on another website. I like to use kayak as they display multiple websites rates all in one place. Then submit an online claim here. You will need to enter all the pricing information as well as attach a screenshot of the website with the lower rate displayed. Once you have submitted your claim, a Hyatt agent will review the information and contact you within 24 hours.
I prefer to utilize Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee policy before making any reservations but if you have already booked a room on Hyatt.com and you find a lower rate on another website you have 24 hours to submit a claim. If your claim is accepted Hyatt will refund you the original price and charge you the new price.
Now, there are some conditions that must be met. The rate must be for the same hotel, type of accommodations, room type and bed type, as well as the same dates and number of guests. If all conditions are met, you will be offered the lower rate!
The additional 20% discount is based off the total stay rate, not the nightly rate. If you’re looking to stay at hotels in other countries, Hyatt will convert to the same currency. Just keep in mind that this guarantee applies to room rate only and not taxes or fees.
